The Ijesa South PDP Media Crew has noted with concern the baseless and unsubstantiated allegations leveled against Hon. Emmanuel Sanya Omirin, the lawmaker representing Ijesa South federal constituency, purportedly being shared by one Elder Adedeji Adebayo a.k.a. Instincts, a member of the Osun State opposition party, APC. 

The claim suggests that Hon. Emmanuel Sanya Omirin had connections with Mr. Olabode Owoeye (known as Bode Itaapa), a suspect arrested by the NPF for cult-related activities.

In response, the APC agent alleged that the suspect confessed to being engaged by a PDP chieftain and Hon. Emmanuel Sanya Omirin, a man of honour known for his commitment to upholding the law. However, it should be clarified that Hon. Emmanuel Sanya Omirin has little or no association with criminal activities.

The public is urged to disregard these rumors propagated by the opposition agent. In a video interview conducted by the police, the suspect himself stated, "I have no relationship with Hon. Sanya Omirin. I do not possess his phone number nor have I had any dealings with him."

The allegations linking a leader of the Osun PDP, Hon Sanya Omirin to suspected cult activities are baseless and represents a malicious attempt to tarnish the reputation of our leader, especially since such a grave allegation did not emanate from the reports of the police authorities investigating the suspect.

It is important to recall that Hon. Emmanuel Sanya Omirin was violently attacked and left unconscious on the eve of the 2023 general election by a gang claiming allegiance to the APC. He was rescued by the police and has since been seeking justice for this heinous act.

These allegations and attacks against Hon. Sanya Omirin are simply a response to the shock of electoral defeat by certain members of the Osun State APC. They seem to hope that public sympathy can be garnered through deceit.

Let it be clear: the Osun State PDP leadership does not condone hooliganism, thuggery, cultism, or any form of social misconduct. Anyone making such claims should be held accountable within the confines of the law.

Hon. Sanya Omirin has never colluded with criminals, either before or during elections. He is a patriotic Nigerian who upholds human dignity and fundamental human rights.

The public is advised not to take the claims of the Osun State APC members seriously; their statements are filled with falsehoods and are merely an attempt to regain public favour.

Attached to this statement is the actual interview conducted with the suspect by journalists under the supervision of the Nigerian Police Force.
