Aare Asejere Commiserates with Flood Victims in Osogbo, Adjoining Communities.

Aare Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa Asejere, the Accord Candidate for Osun Central Senatorial District, has expressed deep sympathy and commiseration with victims of the flooding that affected parts of Osogbo and adjoining communities.

Aare Asejere described the incident as unfortunate and distressing, expressing concern over the extent of damage caused by the heavy rainfall, which reportedly submerged some houses and destroyed properties and valuable belongings.

He said, “I sincerely commiserate with all residents and families affected by this unfortunate incident. It is painful to witness the extent of the destruction caused by the flooding, and my thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has lost property and valuables to the disaster.”

He urged residents to desist from dumping refuse and other waste materials in drainage channels and waterways, stressing that blocked drainage systems can obstruct the free flow of water and worsen the impact of heavy rainfall.

Aare Asejere also called on the Osun State Government, through the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, to urgently assess the situation and provide necessary relief and support to affected residents.

He further appealed to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to promptly intervene by deploying appropriate assistance to the affected communities, particularly those who have suffered significant losses.

While urging residents to remain calm and vigilant, Aare Asejere called for stronger collaboration among government agencies, traditional and community leaders, and residents to tackle the underlying causes of flooding and prevent future occurrences.
