_To the President of Nigeria and the Senate President,_

It is imperative to convey the pressing concerns and priorities of the Nigerian populace at this critical juncture. There has been recent discourse surrounding the revival of the old Nigerian National Anthem. While the anthem holds historical significance, it does not address the immediate and practical needs of our citizens who are grappling with daily challenges.

The current economic climate has placed a tremendous burden on Nigerians. What the people of this nation urgently require are not symbolic gestures but tangible changes that directly improve their quality of life. Specifically, we call for the reinstatement of the old fuel price, which directly affects transportation costs and the overall economy. The exorbitant prices of essential commodities, such as bags of rice and other foodstuffs, must be reduced to their previous levels to ensure food security for all Nigerians.

Furthermore, the construction sector is suffering under the weight of inflated cement and building materials prices. Affordable housing is a fundamental need, and returning to the old prices would make construction more feasible and homes more affordable. Similarly, the cost of education at all levels has soared beyond the reach of many families. Reducing school fees to their former rates is crucial to ensure that every Nigerian child has access to quality education without financial strain.

Additionally, the welfare of our workers cannot be overlooked. Adequate and timely salaries are essential for the livelihood of our workforce and their families. The infrastructure of our nation requires urgent attention; we need good roads to facilitate commerce and connectivity. Our health system is in dire need of improvement, with good hospitals and healthcare services being non-negotiable necessities.

In summary, the focus should not be on reviving an old anthem but on addressing the practical, day-to-day challenges that Nigerians face. The return to old, more affordable prices for fuel, foodstuffs, building materials, and school fees, along with better salaries, infrastructure, and healthcare, will have a far more significant impact on the lives of our citizens.
