Life will be better for Osun People Under Governor Ademola Adeleke - Abayomi Ojo-Segun assures.
A prominent leader of the Peoples Democratic Party and veteran journalist from Osun State, Hon. Abayomi Ojo-Segun has assured the state indigenes that their lives will be better under the administration of the Senator Ademola Adeleke-led administration by the time he concludes his first term as the governor of Osun State in 2026 going forward to his second term in office and beyond.
Hon. Abayomi Ojo-Segun made this assertion in his home town, Ipetumodu while speaking with Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-El Adha celebration today.
Ojo-Segun said Governor Ademola Adeleke has taken various giant strides and has also demonstrated the need for all political parties to profile the backgrounds of their intending aspirants with a view to ascertaining the dignity, pedigree and antecedents of such aspirants because Governor Ademola Adeleke has proved that people with good names and enviable backgrounds are usually fond of protecting their family names while in public office.
Ojo-Segun added "it is a thing of joy not only to me but to many people in Osun State to discover that PDP picked a man who is driven by insatiable nature of ensuring stress free lives for individuals and communities in the state he governs.
Explaining further why he believes that life would be better for Osun indigenes under Adeleke-led government in Osun, he said Governor Ademola Adeleke has done enough to convince everybody that life would be better for ordinary citizens of the state after his eight year tenure only if Osun people can be patient with the steady progression of developments being carried out in less than two years of PDP government in the state.
Some of the human based administration of Governor Adeleke, according to Ojo-Segun include:
(i) confirmation of Freelance Journalists, their absortion, confirmation and integration into the OSBC as permanent staff which he said is a milestone by giving them their permanent means of livelihood."
(ii) continued feeding of school children by the PDP government in Osun State, which the federal government has stopped nationwide because they (the federal government) said they 'can't sustain it but Adeleke is sustaining it.
This is a replica of the government of Western Region under the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, during the first Republican whose workers wages was highest in the entire country , who also sustained free education which the federal government said was not possible at the centre."
(iii) the free Train transportation for Osun indigenes who arrived the state on Saturday for the Ileya celebration which is a huge relief for those who were yearning to visit their families and relations during the festive period.
"This is another show of love for the governed if one considers the high cost of transportation occasioned by the badly planned removal of petroleum subsidy by the federal government on May 29, 2023."
He also added that "the uncountable number of life changing developmental programs introduced by the Adeleke Administration are unprecedented."
(iv) Regular payment of workers' salaries and emoluments and gradual payment of outstanding half salaries owed the state government staff and retirees by the immediate past government of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola but who are now taking their emoluments as at when due, these he said, have also added values to the relief package being enjoyed by the civil servants in the state."
(v) The aggressive rehabilitation of about 345 Primary Health Centres across the 332 wards in the state are all commendable, as well as stocking their pharmacy departments with drugs for the people."
(vi) He said Osun will wear a new look after the completion of those standard dual carriage bridges that are already springing up in major cities in the state.
(vii) "The 1.5 kilometres of roads in each of all the 30 local government areas of the state including the Akinlalu township road, Yakoyo to Koso Junction in Ipetumodu among others will also ease transportation of goods and services between urban and rural communities and this will enhance economi fortunes for our farmers who will sell their farm produce and put an end to perennial wastages of farm produce occasioned by inaccessibility to good roads."
(viii) The inclusion of pensioners, pregnant women, children and all senior citizens in the free health programs of the state government are also enough reasons for Osun indigenes to guide the current administration of PDP in the state, ensure it doesn't slip off their hands and make sure that the party remains in power for a long time to come."
He also congratulated "the last Caretaker Committee members of the party from Ward to state under Dr. Adekunle Akindele who took over the reign of power from the Lagos Landlords and gave it to who deserves to rule Osun State with milk of love flowing down from top to bottom."
He also commended the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Sunday Bisi for his visionary leadership while the struggle to liberate Osun from the unfriendly administration of APC lasted in the state, adding "men of equal valour, consistency and unwavering determination like him are needed to realize and win a life dream wars."
He therefore enjoined the entire Osun indigene to shun partisan politics at this time, come together as one indivisible entity and fervently hold on to their mandate freely given to Senator Ademola Adeleke by and all other PDP candidates in 2022 and 2023 irrespective of their political affiliations adding that they should keep supporting the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Sunday Bisi in his efforts at ensuring that there is no division among them so that 2026 will be an easy ride for Senator Ademola Adeleke's second term in office and the PDP for the sustainability of good governance in the state.
Ojo-Segun therefore enjoined Osun State indigenes to keep supporting the Imole agenda in order to make sure that the free flow of milk and honey for good governance will reach all of them in a short while as works are in progress to ensure that no individual or community will be marginalized beginning from the end of the first tenure of Governor Ademola Adeleke as their living governor till he transits to another PDP successor in 2030 God willing."
He also said he thank God for blessing men of timber, calibre and integrity as both elected and appointed all of who are doing well in their various callings, he also appealed to them to keep complementing the efforts of the governor as they have been doing in order to attract more members to the party, especially as the party membership registration is already in progress across the entire state.
He begged them not to be distracted by some disgruntled elements who will be parading themselves by coming around with unfulfillable promises.
He therefore congratulated Osun State people for having a man of dignity who is walking his talks by ensuring that Osun State money is retained in Osun to develop Osun by Osun indigenes without any form of capital flight as it was, during the tenure of APC in the last four years.
Finally, Ojo-Segun advised Muslims in Osun State to embrace the doctrines of the Prophets of Allah, especially Ibrahim who agreed to sacrifice his only son to God without hesitation. This selfless service to God is all we need even to make life good for humanity.
Happy Eid-El Adha celebration to His Excellency and the entire Osun indigenes.
Abayomi Ojo-Segun.
