●●●Calls for Unity, Reconciliation and Collective effort to secure Victory across the District
The Yeyeluwa of Edeland and Chairperson of the Day at the inauguration of the Asejere Senatorial Campaign Council, Chief (Dr.) Mrs Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni, has declared that the emergence of Alhaji Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa Asejere as Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District would be the best thing that could happen to the district, declaring that the Accord candidate has paid his dues and possesses the integrity, loyalty and experience required for effective representation.
The Iyalaje of Yorubaland, Mrs. Adeleke-Sanni, made this declaration at the inauguration ceremony of the Asejere Senatorial Campaign Council, held at Adebimpe Event Centre, Omo West, Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
The Senior Abiyamo of Nigeria (SAN) called on the good people of Osun Central Senatorial District to vote massively for all Accord candidates in the 2027 National and State Houses of Assembly elections, stressing that the time had come for party members, leaders and stakeholders to close ranks and work towards a common goal.
According to her, Alhaji Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa Asejere, a former Chairman of Olorunda Local Government Council, former State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party and Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs has demonstrated the commitment, loyalty and political maturity needed to represent the district at the National Assembly.
Describing him as a man of his word, Yeyeluwa Adeleke-Sanni maintained that the senatorial candidate is eminently qualified, trustworthy and not a betrayer, adding that his political journey and effort contributed to the success recorded in the last governorship election and there deserves the opportunity to serve at a higher level.
"Alhaji Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa Asejere at the Senate will be the best thing to happen to Osun Central. He has paid his dues, remained loyal to the party and demonstrated the qualities of a dependable leader. He is eminently qualified, trustworthy and a man who does not betray the confidence reposed in him. Osun Central deserves a Senator who understands the people and is prepared to stand by them," she said.
The Yeye Jagunmolu Afiwagboye of Akola-ijesa also expressed confidence in the capacity of Alhaji Asejere to provide purposeful representation, noting that the senatorial district needs a senator who would make its voice heard, champion its interests and attract meaningful development to the area.
She urged members of the campaign council not to rest on their oars but to intensify grassroots mobilisation, engage voters and take the message of the Accord to every unit, ward, local government and household across Osun Central.
While addressing the mammoth crowd that turned out for the inauguration, Yeye Atunluse of Ido-Osunland expressed profound satisfaction that disagreements arising from previous intraparty crises has become a thing of the past, adding that unity and collective responsibility are essential to achieving electoral success in 2027.
She urged party leaders and supporters to continue embracing reconciliation, stressing that the interest of the party and the people of Osun Central must take precedence over personal differences.
According to her, electoral victory would require more than enthusiasm for the senatorial candidate; it would demand a coordinated effort to ensure the success of every Accord candidate contesting for legislative positions. She further charged members of the Asejere Campaign Council to extend their mobilisation efforts to other candidates of the party.
"While you are working for the emergence of Asejere, ensure you also work for Hon. Clement Ademola Akanni Olohunwa, Hon. Abdulmaruf Adewale Gangaria and Hon. Soji Adetunji, as well as all the House of Assembly candidates. We must carry everyone along and ensure that no candidate is left behind," she said.
She urged the campaign council to hit the ground running, build bridges across political divides and translate the confidence expressed at the inauguration into tangible electoral support.
The inauguration attracted an array of political leaders, government functionaries, party stakeholders and community figures. Among the dignitaries present were the Osun State Governor, represented by the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi; the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly and Chairman of the occasion, Rt Hon Adewale Egbedun; and the Chairman of the Asejere Senatorial Campaign Council and Secretary to the State Government, Bobagunwa Hon. Teslim Igbalaye.
Others included members of the Federal House of Representatives, members of the Osun State House of Assembly, the State Chairman of the Accord, Pastor Victor Akande; the National Woman Leader, Hon. Kemi Awogbade; and the pioneer senator representing Osun Central, Dr. Olu Alabi.
Also in attendance were party chairmen from the ten local government areas, local government council chairmen and councillors, commissioners, special advisers, board members, party stakeholders, support groups, religious organisations and other prominent members of society.
