Ife North APC Suffers Major Setback as Ex- Vice Chairman, other Exco Members Defect to PDP

Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ife North, under the aegis of G4, led over five hundred of their followers to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday.

The event, held at the Ipetumodu Market Square, was graced by prominent leaders of the PDP, including the Osun State PDP Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi and his executives, Osun State Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Akinyode Oyewusi, Special Adviser, Hon. Moji Omisore (Cabinet Rank), Chairmanship and Councilorship candidates led by Hon. Mike Akande.

Speaking to the mammoth crowd, Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim Olayiwola, former Vice Chairman Ife North main council, described the defection  as a step in the right direction from the bondage of the APC directionless leadership.

“Today is a memorable day as I and members of the G4 bid farewell to APC in Ife North. For us, this defection is a step in the right direction as it has rescued us from the moribund leadership of APC in Ife North.

“We have dumped the bleaking brooms of shame and joined PDP to advance the good works of H.E. Sen. Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke across the ten wards in Ife North and in our beloved state.” Hon. Olayiwola said.

Other defectors are; Hon. Odetoye Adeyinka Oyeniran, former Vice Chairman, Ife North West LCDA,               Hon Akinade Chidi, former Vice Chairman,Ife North West LCDA, Hon. Olawuni Muideen former Councilor Ipetumodu ward 1, Hon. Bisi Olaleke Benbeler former Councilor Yakooyo ward, Hon. Oyebade Samuel kehinde( Samdep), Mr. Ogunlade Niyi, Mrs Jinadu Bolaji (former APC women leader, Mr. Tayo Akinremi and other major APC  stakeholders  in Ife North.

Reacting, Rt. Hon. Oyewusi described the decision of erstwhile leaders in APC as an important move to collectively develop Ife North.

His words read, “I am delighted to welcome our brothers and sisters from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to our wonderful party in Ife North. Your decision to join us is not merely a political decision but a crucial step towards our Local Government’s common progress.”

In similar vein, the PDP State Chairman, Hon Sunday Bisi welcomed all the decampees across all the ten wards in Ife North and promised that their interests will be taken care of in PDP. 

His statement reads, “I assure you that our party is a home for all who are committed to the advancement of Ife North and Osun State. Together, we will continue to foster development, ensure good governance, and enhance the welfare of our people. Let us remain united, focused, and dedicated to the common goal of making Ife North a model of progress and development in Osun State.

Once again, I welcome you all with open arms and look forward to working with you for the greater good of our people.” He said.
