Today, the Secretary to the Osun State Government and the Bobagnwa of Osogbo Land, High Chief (Hon) Teslim Igbalaye, alongside the people of Osun State and beyond, pause to honor the memory of a true leader, Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, as we mark what would have been his 70th birthday. His departure left a void that still resonates, but his legacy remains ever-present in the heart of the state he once governed and in the lives of those who were touched by his visionary leadership.

Serubawon was a man of integrity, compassion, and conviction. As the first Executive Governor of Osun State, his tenure was defined by an exceptional commitment to uplifting the lives of the people. Through pioneering efforts in key sectors, he redefined governance, demonstrating that true leadership is measured by how much you elevate those around you.

His pioneering work continues to serve as a touchstone for progress in the state, where his spirit remains woven into the fabric of Osun, Nigeria, and the hearts of all who knew him. Today, while his physical presence is missed, his influence is still felt in the ongoing growth and development of the state he so passionately served.

As we reflect on his life and legacy, High Chief (Hon) Teslim Igbalaye, Secretary to the Osun State Government, shared the following message of remembrance:

"Today, as we mark what would have been his 70th birthday, the world feels a little emptier without his commanding presence, his unwavering commitment to the people, and the immense legacy he left behind in Osun State and beyond. Serubawon was a man of deep convictions, unyielding compassion, and immeasurable integrity. Though no longer with us, his spirit remains woven into the fabric of Osun, Nigeria, and the hearts of all who knew him."

"His tenure as the first Executive Governor of Osun State demonstrated his tenacity, visionary approach to governance, and his ability to prioritize the welfare of the people, especially through pioneering strides in various sectors. He served with the understanding that true leadership is defined by how much you uplift those around you."

"On this, his 70th birthday, we remember him with deep gratitude and pride. Though he is no longer here to share in this day with us, we know that he is watching over us, still guiding, still leading in ways we may never fully understand. We honor his memory and pledge to continue the work he began, always with his spirit in our hearts."
