Hon. Shokeye Muhammed Shobowale, a prominent political figure and advocate for good governance in the Irepodun/Orolu/Olorunda/Oshogbo Federal Constituency, has congratulated the elected chairmen and councillors in the local government elections held on Saturday in the state.

Hon. Shokeye stated that the newly elected 30 chairpersons, along with their area offices, and 332 councillors, deserved their victories in Saturday's election. He remarked, “The PDP victory is a testament to the general acceptance of the ruling party under Governor Ademola Adeleke by the people.”

Hon. Shokeye also congratulated all the leaders and members of the People's Democratic Party on their successful outing at the polls, which he attributed to the strides of the government, the support of every party member and stakeholder and the sustained relationships that the party built with the Osun people.

He commended the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) and the security agencies for the peaceful and hugely successful exercise. “I'm confident that insights and experiences from the exercise will help to improve future elections in the state and across the country, especially since the leadership of other states’ electoral commissions observed the exercise throughout the state.”

Hon. Shokeye praised the Osun people for their turnout for the election, their support for the PDP, and their decent conduct while it lasted. “I thank all the political parties for their impressive participation and sportsmanship,” Hon. Shokeye was quoted as saying.

He urged the newly elected public officers to hit the ground running by delivering more dividends of democracy to the grassroots and complementing the good work of the governor.
