The newly elected Local Executive Chairman of Ife North Local Government, Main Council Ipetumodu, Hon. Michael Oluwole Akande has expressed his profound appreciation and gratitude to the people of his local government for their resolute and determined while the struggle lasted.

Hon. Akande made this statement today in Ipetumodu while briefing them on the events of the swearing-in ceremony yesterday and the instructions of the State Governor instructing all the elected council officials to stay away from the premises of the local government until further notice.

According to Hon. Akande, the decision of the State government was to  forestall any untoward acts violence and vandalism by the opposition party.

Akande also debunked the rumours making the rounds by the sacked Yes/No Council Chairmen and Councillors of APC who are claiming that they have taken over as mere distraction and imagination of those perpetrating such bogus lies.

In his words Hon. Akande wrote "Good day ladies and gentlemen. I'm using this medium to appreciate everybody for your unwavering, unrelenting, uncompromising, untiring, unshakable and unimaginable support all this while.

"In the same vein,I want us to remain calm and be optimistic, the battle is over. I assure you very soon everything will take a normal shape and the newly inaugurated cabinet will swing into action.
