Aare Asejere Dismisses APC's Falsehood on Appellate Judgment, Reaffirms Commitment to Osun Council Election.

As part of preparations for the forthcoming Osun council elections, the Olorunda chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held a massive campaign rally in Ward 1. 

The campaign train, led by Aare Ganiyu Ayobami Olaoluwa Asejere, Honourable Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, commenced with a courtesy visit to Dr. Olaosebikan, founder of Onward Hospital, at his residence in Service Area, Agunbelewo.  

During the visit, Aare Asejere presented the PDP flag bearers for Olorunda Main Council and Ward 1,Hon. Obafemi Kolade and Hon. Oguntunde Sikiru to Dr. Olaosebikan, a prominent community leader who pledged his unalloyed to the success of the PDP owing to the performance of the governor and the impact of Aare Asejere while he was the helmsman of Olorunda Main Council. 

The campaign team thereafter proceeded to Akatakiti Community, where a newly completed borehole project was commissioned by Aare Asejere on behalf of Governor Ademola Adeleke. Speaking at the event, the Baale of Akatakiti expressed deep appreciation for the governor’s intervention, assuring that the community would support PDP candidates in the forthcoming elections.  

The campaign team further moved to the NURTW Stadium branch, where members of the transport union openly expressed satisfaction with Governor Adeleke’s administration. 

The union leadership applauded Aare Asejere for his lasting impact as a former council chairman and pledged their unwavering support for the PDP in the upcoming elections.  

In a show of solidarity, Aare Asejere led the campaign team to welcome Governor Ademola Adeleke at the official kickoff of the Osogbo City Stadium reconstruction project. The team donned a uniform outfit to mark the event’s significance.  

The grand finale of the rally took place at Agowande, where thousands of PDP members and Olorunda residents gathered in support of the party’s chairmanship candidate, Hon. Obafemi Kolade; his vice, Hon. Isiaka Akinloye; and the Ward 1 councilorship candidate, Hon. Oguntunde Sikiru. Addressing the crowd, Aare Asejere dismissed the falsehoods being peddled by opposition mischief-makers regarding the recent appellate judgment, clarifying that the ruling does not affect the scheduled council elections. He reassured party faithful that the elections remain valid under the OSSIEC guidelines and the amended Electoral Act. He then urged all residents to come out en masse to vote for the PDP on February 22, 2025.  

The campaign event was rounded off with the official presentation of the PDP flag to the chairmanship candidate, Hon. Obafemi Kolade, by the overall leader of Olorunda PDP, Senator Dr. Oluwole Alabi.
