MAWLID: AKINLEYE URGES MUSLIMS TO UPHOLD THE PROPHET’S LEGACY OF PEACE, LOVE AND COMPASSION.
Osogbo, 25th August, 2026.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, has extended warm greetings and heartfelt felicitations to Muslims in Osun State, across Nigeria and around the world on the celebration of this year’s Mawlid Nabiy, commemorating the birth and enduring legacy of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
Alhaji Akinleye described the life of the Holy Prophet as a timeless source of guidance for humanity, noting that his message of mercy, justice, compassion, peace and good character remains as relevant today as ever.
According to him, Mawlid Nabiy offers Muslims another opportunity for deep reflection on the exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), whose teachings continue to illuminate the path of righteousness and inspire mankind towards a more peaceful, just and compassionate society.
“On this special occasion, I heartily rejoice with our Muslim brothers and sisters as we celebrate the birth of the Seal of the Prophets, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Beyond the celebration, this moment calls us to reflect sincerely on his life and recommit ourselves to the noble values he lived and taught.
“Prophet Muhammad was sent as a mercy to all of creation. His life was a shining example of love, humility, patience, forgiveness, justice and compassion. At a time when our society needs greater understanding and unity, there can be no better lesson than to embrace his teachings and allow his exemplary character to guide our words, actions and relationships.
“As Muslims, our love for the Prophet should not be expressed merely in words or during celebrations; it should be evident in the quality of our character, the way we treat one another, our commitment to justice, and our willingness to promote peace and harmony wherever we find ourselves.
“I therefore urge all faithful to use this blessed occasion to pray for lasting peace, unity and progress in Osun State and Nigeria. Let us shun hatred, intolerance and division, and instead become ambassadors of love, good neighbourliness and peaceful coexistence, following the beautiful example of the Noble Prophet.”
Alhaji Akinleye prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to bless the people of Osun State and Nigeria with peace, wisdom and prosperity, while granting all Muslims the grace to live by the teachings and noble example of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
He added that the lessons of the Prophet’s life should continually inspire citizens to work together in love and unity for a better, stronger and more prosperous society.
“As we mark this blessed occasion, may the light of the Prophet’s teachings continue to shine in our hearts and homes. May Almighty Allah grant us the grace to follow his path, perfect our character, strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among us, and bless our land with enduring peace and progress. Ameen.”
Happy Mawlid Nabiy to all Muslim faithful.
